Today I got back into the groove at work, watching lots of stuff and even cutting a little too.  I wish I had more of a rest between our super active vacation and now work.

Anyway, today I did the day 1 fitness test for the 30 day challenge that bodyrock.tv is doing.  Here are my scores.  You do each exercise for 50 seconds with 10 seconds rest in between.

SQUAT JUMP:  28
PUSH UPS:  13
BURPEES:  8
HIGH KNEES:  103
SWITCH LUNGES:  8
TUCK JUMPS:  12
SIT UPS:  15

Thanks to Bodyrock.tv, I got a good, fast workout in today.  With my run yesterday, that means I'm still holding up a 100% phys ed grade for 2012!

My knee hurts from the run yesterday, in the IT band, the same way it hurt during the marathon.  I guess I need to start going to the gym to do lower impact stuff for a while.  Let them eat poop!

2011 Year in Review

CAREER
Had the best year of my life career-wise and financially, this being the first calendar year I’ve been an editor and also the first year I worked nonstop at the same production company.  Got to work on a variety of shows for a variety of networks, all of which I’m very proud of…  Season 2 of Gigolos just finished airing, and Life on a Wire and The Wiener’s Circle will both air next year.  The first sizzle reel I ever cut got sold to a network this year, so maybe I’ll get to work on that show next year.  Also the DVD for “Donner Pass” will drop in January, complete with my “Making Of” featurette, which was my first side project and my first step into the horror genre.

I maxed out my Roth IRA again, even though I didn’t make any money on it this year.  And I hope to do the same next year, and start investing beyond that.  This will be the first time I’ve had an accountant do my taxes.

I became a member of The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the picture editor peer group.  You’re really supposed to have four years of editing experience, but I think they made an exception for me because I managed 17 on screen credit hours in my first year of cutting.  Anyway, now I get to vote on the Emmys and go to free screenings and mixers.

PERSONAL
Still living with Chelsea, we’ve been together for 28 months now and our nub continues to grow.  I still love her and our life together will all my heart!

For the first time in my life, I broke a bone.  It was my right pinky toe on Valentine’s Day, ruining our date but not our romance.  I still feel it when it rains.

I turned 30, and I feel really excited about it.  I believe my 30s will be amazing!  Chelsea arranged a great party for me, SO many people came out in the pouring rain just for me.

I realized a childhood dream of not only seeing Weird Al Yankovic in concert, but also meeting him backstage!

I raced my first 10k and half marathon here in LA.

Chelsea and I took our biggest trip together, 5 days on Oahu, 5 days on Maui, and 5 days in New Orleans for her 10th high school reunion.  The Hawaii leg of the trip is also the farthest vacation of my life.  I ran my first marathon, the 2011 Honolulu marathon (6 hours and 10 minutes but my goal was really just to finish).

JAN 1, 2011 WEIGHT:  200
JAN 1, 2012 WEIGHT: 184.5

I think I could be a solid 170 or so someday, if I was real lean.
